The Celebration!

The Murals are on the walls!! Thank you to my husband Jeff for helping me hang the murals. Friday We hosted a celebration of the murals and invited parents, community, and others to visit Drakes Creek Middle School. The students enjoyed hosting and giving tours of the 7 habits murals. The murals are all around the school so the students would walk the guests around to each of the habits and read from a script about the habit plus answer questions about each one. I love the learning that is happening with this project! The students have so enjoyed the Leadership roles of giving the tours.

Time to create the Self Portraits!

Students began working on their own self-portrait several days ago. We have worked in our sketchbooks to create the nose, mouth and eyes. I like the way they are using their knowledge of drawing with their new knowledge of using acrylic paint to paint their own portrait. Can't wait to see how they turn out!
